Public Practice Verification

The Reiki Association public practice verification is a one-off process and should be considered as an important commitment to your Reiki practice if you are working in the public domain.
The Reiki Association is an approved verifying organisation. Our verifiers are all experienced Reiki Masters who will support and mentor candidates through the verification process if they experience any difficulty.
Once you have made your application for Verification, the pack you receive will give you the instructions you need to set up an observed treatment and will also contain a written questionnaire, to be sent off once completed, to your allocated verifier with copies of insurance, certificates, details of lineage and character references.
Who can Observe for verification?
Observers can be any registered health professional or a Reiki practitioner that you don’t personally know, but they must be CNHC registered. The Reiki Association offers a list of approved verifiers. Your verifier will contact you if there are any queries about your written paper. Should you need to resubmit any part of it, if this is done within six months, there will be no further cost.
Benefits of being Verified
As a verified member you will receive a one-off certificate in partnership with the Reiki Council for professional practice and their logo. This logo can be used on your own website or publicity material. You may also show this logo on your entry if you are listed in The Reiki Directory.
As a member of The Reiki Association, you are entitled to a Membership Certificate as well as use of our ‘Verified’ logo for as long as you remain a member. Please note that Membership Certificates and the use of our logo are only available if you are a Verified Practitioner. If you wish to do this, please apply to the Membership Secretary for the Terms of Usage.
CNHC Registration Fast-Track
As a Verified Practitioner, you can automatically be fast-tracked for CNHC registration which may be required in different centres, clinics, hospitals in the UK at any time.
Required criteria for Verification
You must comply to the following requirements to apply for verification:
- You will need to have completed Reiki level 1 and 2 courses (not necessarily in Usui Shiki Ryoho).
- You will need to have received your Reiki initiations through in-person Reiki initiation/attunement (N.B. Reiju is not classed as an initiation/attunement).
- Holy Fire Reiki and Angelic Reiki, or any other form of group attunement are not recognised for the purpose of verification.
- You will need to have a genuine lineage that begins with the founder of Reiki, Mikao Usui.
- You will need to have received a minimum of 100 Reiki treatments, either self-treatment, treatments from others or a combination of both.
- You will need to complete the ‘Practitioner’ questionnaire. You need to have given 75 Reiki treatments to others, of which we need evidenced case studies for 10 clients who have received three treatments or more from you.
Please provide details when you submit your paperwork. We also suggest you make yourself aware of the National Occupational Standards (NOS) [link] as they relate to the practice of Reiki.
Cost of Verification
The Reiki Association member – £120.00 in total, including admin fee.
Non-member of The Reiki Association – £135.00 in total, including admin fee.
Additional Verifier fee – £75.00 to be paid to the individual verifier.
Additional costs – Travel expenses to be agreed with verifier.
